Lido di Camaiore is a seaside resort that is distinguished by its natural features, with a beach of 4 km composed of golden fine sand that is washed by the Ligurian Sea. Its extension brings it to border with the municipalities of Pietrasanta, precisely with the sea side of Marina, and Viareggio, in the inimitable and refined atmosphere of the “Riviera della Versilia”.

When the sunset ignites the Tyrrhenian Sea in Lido di Camaiore the ritual of the "life style of Versilia" is staged. In this enclave of good humor and sweet "surrender" gathers a heterogeneous crowd: characters of all ages animate pubs, cafes, hotels, restaurants and bathing establishments in a relaxing atmosphere from the South Seas.

They sip cocktail and aperitifs, go to concerts, participate in cultural events or simply let themselves go to the euphoria that comes from the sea. To remember the Belle Époque there is also the futuristic steel jetty that stretches for 285 meters between the waves: it seems to proceed on board a ship at launch as you walk towards the tip of the metaphysical structure, or an oval of 700 square meters with veranda and wine bar. In front of only sky and sea, no other point of reference so much that sooner or later the space-time disorientation will force you to turn to admire the incomparable spectacle of the coastline: the Versilia in a single glance, hooded by the majestic Apuan Alps.

If Versilia is one of the places that has made the history of Italian tourism, so much to be chosen by Gabriele D'Annunzio a century ago to live his passion with the actress Eleonora Duse, even Lido di Camaiore attracts over the years the greatest characters of the time, from King Vittorio Emanuele III to Guglielmo Marconi. One of the reasons is surely its strategic and ideal location to discover the Tuscany of the hinterland, the cities of art and the tourist centers of Tuscany and Liguria.

CAMAIORE ANTIQUA

The hills of Camaiore, for more than one hundred years a retreat of famous people of culture, are a treasure chest and mysteries. Hidden in an ancestral magical landscape, finding them is not difficult. Camaiore Antigua and the hiking guide have created a 150 km network of trails, with 15 of thematic ring trekking. It ranges from the ghosts of the castle of Montecastrese to the abandoned village of Lecci, from the Onda caves and Tambugione, inhabited by the man of Neanderthal, to the rock engravings of the Rock of the Pennati in Greppolungo.
